Bean & Baguette
Once in a blue moon, our schedules will finally line up for a day and we have the opportunity to grab lunch or get coffee together. Recently, we decided to stop and eat at one of our favorite Greensburg cafes, Bean & Baguette. As you can tell from the snow flurries in the photo below, this visit was prior to our mid-winter summer. We ran a little late with this post, but trust us... It's worth the read.
This cozy cafe serves breakfast and lunch along with some Mediterranean recipes. One of the reasons we enjoy coming here is because there really is something for everyone. If you're an adventurous eater, definitely try something off of the Mediterranean menu. It's always good to expand your horizons and food is an easy way to do just that! We found the following quote by Mark Kurlansky to illustrate what we mean. "Food is a central activity of mankind and one of the single most significant trademarks of a culture.” Bean & Baguette produces the best of Mediterranean culture and food, right in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. If you're somewhat of a picky eater, we assure you that you won't go hungry. Order one of their salads or delicious sandwiches and you'll be full very quick.
Although we both love to push our tastebuds to their limits, we ordered items from both sides of the menu. Emma ordered the Chicken Shwarma while Ryan got a Cheesy Roast Beef Sandwich. Both were equally delicious and not too far out of our budget! The homemade chips had the perfect crisp crunch you look for as well.
The atmosphere at Bean & Baguette is homey and spacious. There is a large staircase as soon as you enter that somehow adds to the unique feeling of the space. There is enough seating for nearly 20 or more individuals in the entire cafe. We love that the building has high ceilings and is completely surrounded with picture windows. There is enough natural light to save A LOT of the electric bill.
All of this is interesting enough... but the music selection really makes the place special in our minds. A mix of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern music adds such a beautiful touch, making everything about this restaurant's culture and cuisine an experience do not want to miss. For a little sneak peak, here is a song that Ryan shazamed while we were dining.
Before we left, we had to grab some kind of dessert. So Emma decided on an apple walnut brownie that did not disappoint! This fudgy treat was a great way to top of our full stomachs.
Right before we walked out, we noticed these beautiful prints that perfectly completed our experience.
